ABOUT GCC

Chinmaya Mission's annual Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Chanting Competition is conducted by its worldwide centers for children, youth, and adults, involves hundreds of thousands of participants each year. The Gita, which teaches the supreme Truth and the art of living, has inspired millions, along with great world leaders and achievers.

The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Chanting Competition is the brainchild of His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda, who promoted the study of Gita verses in India in the 1980s with his innovative slogan, "Chant Gita, Land Washington." The grand prize was a trip to the US. Today, Chinmaya Mission continues the tradition of teaching and promoting the Gita through this annual competition, and Gita jnana yajnas and workshops.

Every year, CM Miami's competition is open to the entire South Florida community, and features the participants' noteworthy scholarship and discipline. All winners receive beautiful prizes for exemplary chanting. From grandparents to parents to children, families and friends have inspired each other and participated over the years.

We welcome the entire community to join and support this noble event, which promotes the universal philosophy of Vedanta and helps us build a more harmonious world. The Competition is offered in two categories: Open Book and Memorized. Prizes vary in each category.
