In his composition, Hanuman Chalisa, Gosvami Tulasidasa declares, "Jo sata bara patha kara koi, chutahi bandhi maha sukha hoi: He who chants Hanuman Chalisa 7 times (or 100 times) is freed from the bondage (of samsara) and attains the highest bliss." The true meaning is, he who remembers the Lord continuously attains the highest goal of life.

Hanuman Chalisa Havan

The havan will be conducted outdoors, beginning with pujas and followed by sankalpa. Hanuman Chalisa will be chanted in full 7 times at the havan kund. For each round of chanting, Yajamans will offer ahutis (oblations) into the yajña fire as directed by the priest. All havan samagri (materials) will be provided. A procession will be led for arati and presentations in the temple.

9-11 a.m. Check-in for Yajamans, Sankalpa Families, and Lunch Pass
9-9:45 Pujas and Sankalpa for Havan
9:45-11:30 Havan
11:30-12:30 Procession, Arati, Presentations, Raksha

Please maintain the sanctity of the event: Keep long hair tied; wear bindi or tilak; no sleeveless blouses/kurtas.

All Sankalpa Families will receive a memento of love after the havan.

Single adults or married couples may be Yajamans. For couples: Both sit near the havan, but only one person offers the ahutis.
Register early to be a Yajaman, as space is limited.
All Yajamans will be seated in a reserved section and recognized with a token of gratitude.

Havan Day
The Pujas begin at 9 a.m. Remove your footwear in an neat and orderly manner.
For Yajamans, Sankalpa Families, and Lunch Pass: Collect your band at the registration desk as you enter the hallway.
Yajamans will be led to the havan for reserved seating (children may accompany parents for seating only). All others will be seated in the general seating area. Chairs will be available in both areas.

FAQs: Freqently Asked Questions
1) Do I need to know Hanuman Chalisa chanting and verses to attend or be a Yajaman?
No. Just come with a heart full of devotion! Many chanters will be present.
2) Will Hanuman Chalisa verses be distributed or available on screen?
No. Bring your printout or smartphone.
3) Will there be chairs to seat those who cannot sit on the floor?
Yes. However, if you are a Yajaman, have someone else assigned to sit at the havan on your behalf.
4) Are we allowed to get up during the havan?
Yes, however socializing or indiscipline on the premises will not be permitted, as it affects the sanctity of the worship and offerings.
5) As a Yajaman, can my children offer ahutis?
No. Only adults will be seated at the havan for the round of ahutis. For couples, both will sit but only one will make the offerings (each Yajaman registration is for one couple).
6) As a Sankalpa Family or Yajaman, what happens if I am late or unable to attend?
The priest will include your family's names in the sankalpa regardless.
